The summer holidays are just around the corner — and if you’re a parent and a business owner like me, you’ll know it’s about to be a full-on juggling act.

Running a café means summer is one of our busiest seasons. Longer days, more foot traffic, iced lattes flying out the door, and lots of lovely customers enjoying time off (thank you!!). It’s exciting, it’s rewarding… and it’s also exhausting.

Now add to that the small fact that my four kids are about to be home for six weeks — full of energy, snacks, and sports practices.  The logistics become less like a diary and more like a tactical mission.

It’s a constant dance between making sure the café runs smoothly, keeping the kids happy and entertained, and somehow finding a second to breathe (and maybe drink my own coffee while it’s still hot).

To every parent, small biz owner, or both — I see you. We’ve got this. 

Here’s to the chaos, the joy, the sunshine, and a very strong cold brew. 

Let’s make it through the summer — one coffee at a time.
